BookWhere to go canyoning in Guadeloupe?
All of Guadeloupe’s canyons are on Basse-Terre, the mountainous, volcanic island of the archipelago: this is where the rain falling on the Soufrière massif has carved out the rivers, waterfalls and pools. Grande-Terre, flat and made of limestone, has no canyons; allow about an hour’s drive from Pointe-à-Pitre or the beaches of Sainte-Anne and Le Gosier to reach our meeting points. Our six trips cover the island’s main areas.
Saint-Claude, at the foot of La Soufrière
The sportiest area, in the heart of the National Park. The Rivière Noire and the Vauchelet waterfalls, a few minutes from the Bains Jaunes, string together abseils, jumps and a launch slide: this is our canyoning trip in Saint-Claude, Red level.
Bouillante and the Caribbean coast
Above the beaches of Malendure and the Cousteau Reserve, two very different canyons: Bourceau, a discovery trip ideal for a first time, and Bois Malaisé, our most committing full day, for experienced canyoners only.
Northern Basse-Terre: Deshaies and Pointe-Noire
In Deshaies, the Grande Rivière Ferry offers a discovery trip in an unspoilt setting, and in Pointe-Noire, the Acomat canyon is our most family-friendly route, close to river trekking.
Southern Basse-Terre: Gourbeyre
In Gourbeyre, the Ravine Chaude runs down to the Bassin Bleu, one of the most beautiful pools in the south of the island.

- For thrills: the Rivière Noire in Saint-Claude, with its jumps and launch slide.

The levels (Green, Blue, Red, Black) are explained on our canyoning levels page, and prices on the rates page.
Included in all our trips
Every trip is led by a state-certified guide. Technical equipment is provided: wetsuit, helmet, harness, bag and waterproof drum. All you need to bring is shoes that stay on your feet and can get wet, a swimsuit, water and a snack. You do not need to be able to swim, but you should not be afraid of water; no experience is needed for the Green and Blue levels.
Canyoning is possible all year round in Guadeloupe. The water level depends on rainfall in the mountains: your guide may adapt the route, or postpone the trip if a weather warning is in force.
