Canyoning in Guadeloupe: a way of sharing far more than a simple canyon descent — the discovery of a whole new world.
Descending a canyon is first of all the pleasure of an activity in the heart of nature, of making memories with friends or family, of sharing emotions… But it is also about getting to know the environment better, in order to respect it and enjoy it more. No sense of competition, except with yourself — just good humour, friendliness, humility and respect…

Canyoning in Guadeloupe means making your way down a mountain river on foot and by swimming, jumping into pools, sliding down natural waterslides and abseiling down waterfalls. All our trips take place on Basse-Terre, in the tropical rainforest of the National Park, with a state-qualified guide and all the gear provided. Here is everything you need to choose your trip.
All of Guadeloupe's canyons are on Basse-Terre, the mountainous island of the archipelago, between La Soufrière volcano and the leeward coast. We guide six routes: Acomat in Pointe-Noire, Grande Rivière Ferry in Deshaies, the Bourceau and Bois Malaisé in Bouillante, Rivière Noire and the Vauchelet falls in Saint-Claude, and Ravine Chaude at Bassin Bleu in Gourbeyre.
From Grande-Terre (Sainte-Anne, Le Gosier, Saint-François), allow about 1 h to 1 h 45 of driving depending on the trip.
Canyoning is possible all year round in Guadeloupe: the water stays mild and the wetsuit we provide keeps you warm. The dry season, from December to May, brings steadier water levels; in the rainy season the rivers are livelier and the waterfalls more spectacular.
Safety comes first: in case of heavy rain or flooding, the guide postpones the trip or offers another route, and lets you know as early as possible by WhatsApp or email.
Our prices range from €50 per person for the family trip at Acomat, to €60–70 for discovery and sporty trips, up to €110 for the full day at Bois Malaisé.
The price includes a qualified guide and all technical gear: helmet, harness with lanyards and descender, neoprene wetsuit and socks, waterproof bag. Details on our canyoning prices in Guadeloupe page.
Our routes are graded from green to black, like ski slopes (see the canyoning levels). Families can go canyoning from age 8 at Acomat or the Bourceau; discovery trips welcome beginners from age 10, and from age 8 at the Bourceau; sporty and expert routes are for ages 16 and over, in good shape.
You do not need to be able to swim: what matters is not being afraid of water. We take only one group per day, in small numbers, so there is time to enjoy it.
| Trip | Town | Level | Min. age | Duration | Price |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Acomat (family) | Pointe-Noire | Green | 8 yrs | 2h30 | €50 |
| Bourceau (discovery) | Bouillante | Blue | 8 yrs | 3h30 | €60 |
| Ravine Chaude – Bassin Bleu | Gourbeyre | Blue | 10 yrs | 3h30 | €60 |
| Grande Rivière Ferry | Deshaies | Blue | 10 yrs | 4h | €70 |
| Rivière Noire – Vauchelet | Saint-Claude | Red | 16 yrs | 5h | €70 |
| Bois Malaisé (full day) | Bouillante | Black | 16 yrs | 7h | €110 |
Price per person, guide and gear included. Exact times and meeting points on each trip page and in your confirmation email — see upcoming availability.
No, you do not need to be able to swim: what matters is not being afraid of water. The neoprene wetsuit helps a lot with floating.
From age 8 on the family trips at Acomat (Pointe-Noire) and the Bourceau (Bouillante), from 10 for Ravine Chaude and Deshaies, and from 16 for Rivière Noire and Bois Malaisé.
From €50 to €110 per person depending on the route and duration, qualified guide and technical gear included.
Closed shoes with a flexible, grippy sole that can get wet (running, trail or hiking shoes), a swimsuit, a towel and a change of clothes, a soft water bottle (about 1 litre) and a snack. Everything else is provided. The full list is on our what to bring for canyoning page.
For a first experience, choose a blue trip: the Bourceau in Bouillante, Ravine Chaude at Bassin Bleu or Grande Rivière Ferry in Deshaies. With young children, the green trip at Acomat is ideal. The red and black routes are for sporty or experienced people.
Rain itself is not a problem — you get wet anyway! However, in case of heavy rain or a risk of flooding, the guide postpones or cancels the trip, or offers a safer route. You are told as early as possible.
Each trip has its meeting point on Basse-Terre: Maison du Cacao in Pointe-Noire, the Pigeon shopping centre in Bouillante, in front of the Four des Îles bakery, the Botanical Garden in Deshaies or our premises at Habitation Dain in Saint-Claude, where the Rivière Noire and Ravine Chaude trips start. Arrive 10 to 15 minutes early to get kitted out.

Because we are canyoning practitioners ourselves, when we created Moncanyon our ambition was above all to share the pleasure of a physical, technical sport in the heart of nature, to allow as many people as possible to build memories with friends or family, and to open up a world of its own, far off the beaten track.
In short, it was about sharing with you the emotions and sensations we experience ourselves.
To keep that spirit, we chose to offer you the wildest and least crowded routes, the ones we run for our own pleasure. Vertical or aquatic, we have graded them from green to black, from the simplest to the most demanding, ski-slope style! So that you can make the most of these magical moments, we limit the number of participants on each outing and never take more than one group a day — time to build a bond, to do the jumps again and again if you feel like it, and why not share a ti-punch at the end of the day.
Guadeloupe: a day in canyoning paradise! At the foot of the Soufrière, in Basse-Terre, you will be captivated by the spectacle of Guadeloupe’s famous natural pools. You can escape into crystal-clear water all year round, and if you are a canyoning enthusiast these places are perfect for your favourite sport, along the most beautiful canyons of the archipelago.
Thrills and adrenaline are guaranteed — an experience to live together, in the heart of the primary forest, on the edge of the Guadeloupe National Park.
